━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ リヴァプール・ニュース ／ News of the Liverpool World ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ NLW ■ *** http://scousehouse.net/ *** □■ INDEX ■□ ▽フロム・エディター ▼寄稿：「Match Review: EFC vs Man City」 ▽「ビリ講」アーカイブ ▼スカウスハウス・ニュース ▽今週のフォト ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― ▽フロム・エディター ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――─ NLW □ ひさしぶりに、フットボールの話題を。 現在ちょっとした中断期間に入っているイングランド・プレミアリーグですが （カップ戦などのため。でも今週末から再開です）、リヴァプールFCは現在65 ポイントで暫定２位。暫定首位のマンチェスター・シティとは同ポイントながら 得失点差でセカンド・ポジションとなっています。なんで暫定かというと、マ ン・シティの方が１試合多く消化しているわけですね。つまりレッズ（リヴァ プールのこと）の方が１試合少ないのにポイントは同じ、ということで、気分的 にはどうしても我がレッズが首位に見えてしまう状況ではあるのであるけれど、 にゃんと再開後初戦の相手はマンチェスター・ユナイテッド。いきなりの「ナ ショナル・ダービー」です。しかもアウェイ・ゲーム。監督が代わった途端に息 を吹き返した（…というよりは、生き返った、かな）宿敵ユナイテッドは、シー ズン前半に我々にホームで叩きのめされた頃とは（あれでモウリーニョ監督が解 任されたんだった）すっかり別のチームになってしまっているので、今回はそう 簡単には行かないかもしれません。 さらにです。その次の次の試合の相手は、ユナイテッドと並ぶ宿敵・エヴァト ンです。３月３日。こちらは「マージーサイド・ダービー」ですね。ご存知のよ うにブルーズ（エヴァトン）もリヴァプールに本拠をおくクラブで、レッズのア ンフィールド・スタジアムとブルーズのグッディソン・パーク・スタジアムは、 大きな公園・スタンレー・パークをはさんだ隣どうしです。 毎年５月に行われる「リヴァプール・ロックンロール・マラソン」では、この２ つのスタジアムがレースコースの中に入っていて、ディキシー・ディーン（の銅 像）に挨拶をしたちょっとあとにビル・シャンクリー（の銅像）に挨拶をするこ とになります。これはなかなか楽しい体験です。はい、僕は2017年に走りまし た。 で、ええと、そうそう、ユナイテッドとブルーズという最大のライヴァル２チー ムと中７日で当たっちゃうわけで（その前にチャンピオンズ・リーグ決勝トーナ メント１回戦・ファーストレグをブンデスリーガ・チャンピオンのバイエルン・ ミュンヘンとホームで戦って、２つのダービーの間にワトフォードとホームで対 戦）というのは、レッズにとってちょっと、いや、かなりキツいんじゃないかな と思います。しかもこの２つの伝統の一戦、というか伝統の二戦、どっちもア ウェイです。ブルーズと対戦する「マージーサイド・ダービー」では、僕はい つも引き分けでいいと思ってるのですが（エヴァトンも好きなのです）、今回は 悪いけれどレッズに勝ってほしい。引き分けじゃ足りない。もちろんユナイテッ ドにも。 ちなみに、エヴァトンは現在33ポイントで９位（でも10, 11位と同ポイント）、 マンチェスター・ユナイテッドは51ポイントで４位です（よくここまで浮上し たなあ…さすがです）。 というわけで、我がレッズ。 チャンピオンズリーグ・マッチ（明日早朝！）からスタートするこの４試合、こ の２週間をきっちり全勝で乗り切ることができれば、29年ぶり（！？）のリー グ制覇、プレミアリーグでは初優勝、に大きく前進ですよね。それでもまだ８試 合残ってるので安心も油断もできませんが、とにかく。 そして、グループリーグをヨレヨレで通過した（ほんとにキワどかったなあ） チャンピオンズ・リーグも、ここからが得意のノックアウト・ラウンドです。昨 シーズンのような快進撃を期待しましょう…今度は決勝できっちり勝ってちょう だい！ ● ● ● 今週は寄稿がひとつ。 リヴァプール在住のペンネームStanley Parkさんによる、プレミアリーグの マッチ・レポートをお届けします。 試合はエヴァトンFC vs マンチェスター・シティ。２月６日にグッディソン・ パークで行われたナイトゲームです。 この試合、僕もインターネット中継で観戦したのですが、いやあ、ほんとに惜し いゲームでした。ブルーズにとって。 Stanley Parkさんのレポートは英語で書かれているのですが、翻訳せずにその まま掲載します。なんというか、とってもリズムがよくて簡潔で、実にロジカ ルでスマート。読んでて惚れ惚れしてしまう文章なので、普段英文に馴染みの ないかたも、ぜひチャレンジしてみてください。もちろんフットボール観戦歴 何十年というオーソリティーだけあって、専門的な指摘や分析もさすがです。 お世辞じゃなくプロのマッチレポートです。素晴らしい！ 実はStanley Parkさん、過去にも、Albert DockというペンネームでNLWにマッ チ・レポートを寄稿してくださっています。なんと５回も！ http://scousehouse.net/magazine/nlw_photo506.html http://scousehouse.net/magazine/nlw_photo532.html http://scousehouse.net/magazine/nlw_photo604.html http://scousehouse.net/magazine/nlw_photo605.html http://scousehouse.net/magazine/nlw_photo610.html もちろん僕は今回もAlbert Dockでと思っていたんだけど、いただいた原稿には 「Stanley Park」と署名されていたので、それに従います。まさかとは思うけど、 自分で間違えたわけじゃあないよね？？ Albert Dock改めStanley Parkさんには、試合の写真もお願いしました。 寒い夜の熱い対戦の雰囲気が伝わって来るショットの数々もぜひご覧ください。 http://scousehouse.net/magazine/nlw_photo710.html 元Albert Dockさんで現Stanley Parkさん、ありがとうございました。これか らもよろしくです！ ― Kaz（19/02/2019） ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― ▼寄稿：「Match Review: EFC vs Man City」 ――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――― NLW □ 「Match Review; Everton vs Manchester City」 / Stanley Park ≪ http://scousehouse.net/magazine/nlw_photo710.html ≫ Everton 0 v 2 Manchester City. English Premier League Goodison Park, Wednesday February 6th 2019. Attendance: 39,000 Everton v Manchester City is a match that is significant in itself as it involves two big clubs from the famous footballing cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Extra significance was added to this game by the fact that City would reclaim top spot if they won and Everton's poor run of form would be extended if they lost. Everton have won just three of their past 12 Premier League matches; a fifth home loss in 2018-19 would match their total number of defeats at Goodison Park for all of 2017-18. As for Manchester City, they have dropped 16 points in the league this season, which is already two more than in the whole of last season. They have also lost three of their last five league away matches, the same number of defeats as in their previous 35 fixtures on the road. However, the thought that a win in this match would put them in number one position proved to be a great incentive. Often games involving City are entertaining. However, Everton manager Marco Silva, determined not to lose another home game after losing 3-1 at home to newly-promoted Wolves at the weekend, went for a compact 4-3-3 formation and made five changes, including leaving out top scorers Richarlison and Sigurdsson, a clear signal of a defensive approach. Everton started brightly but once City started to exploit the gaps that this left, Everton packed the midfield more. Although this made them solid and closed down the space that City need to play their passing game, it also meant that the Toffees didn't get forward enough. With most of the first half played in the middle of the park, chances were few and far between. Everton, disappointingly, did not have a single attempt on target in the first forty-five minutes. City created more with Sane and Laporte narrowly missing and Gundogan hitting the bar. Even so, as half-time approached Everton could feel pleased with their performance as they were holding City 0-0. However, one minute of stoppage time was added during which Everton needlessly gave away a free kick on the left side of their final third. Last weekend they conceded their 11th league goal from a set-piece, the joint highest in the division. So here they were in the final seconds of the first half facing another one. The cross went into the box and City defender Laporte rose unchallenged to meet the ball and head it wide of Pickford, leaving Everton fans with an awful sense of inevitability. In the second half Everton needed to go forward more but again they lacked creativity and had only one shot on target. Richarlison and Sigurdsson came on as substitutes, but this did not help. City were happy to hang on to their lead and play their patient possession game (City had 69% possession for the whole game, Everton 31%). Just as in the first half, they again twice went very close to scoring, this time through Aguero and Sterling, and, just as in the first half, they scored a goal with just seconds remaining, a goal involving neat play from the substitutes de Bruyne and Jesus. The Belgian put the striker clean through with a neat pass, Pickford saved his first attempt but Jesus headed in the rebound. 2-0. It was City's fifteenth attempt at goal and their fourth on target. Everton had four attempts, with only one on target in the whole game. City are now top of the table with 62 points and Everton are ninth with 33 points. This result means Everton's bad run of form continues. Since the beginning of December, only the Premier League's two bottom clubs, Huddersfield Town and Fulham, have earned fewer points than Everton's 11. Although this was an improved, spirited performance (the crowd cheered them off at the end), it was one which showed little guile. The club's major shareholder, the Iranian billionaire Farhad Moshiri, has now been in power for three years, during which time he has provided £300M for transfers, but so far the only signing that has real quality is goalkeeper Pickford. Record signing Richarlison shows promise but not often enough; he was dropped for this game and was unable to get into the match when he came on as substitute. In the three years under Moshiri there have been four managers, which indicates that perhaps he is yet another foreign-born billionaire who might understand the pace of business but does not understand the pace of football; with such corporate moguls patience is not a virtue. This means there are a number of players previously bought by different managers but who are not in the plans of the current manager; such players are either loaned out, sold on at a loss, or rarely used: Sandro Ramirez, Davy Klaassen, Yannick Bolasie, Morgan Schneiderlin. The owner's impatience naturally puts great pressure on manager Marco Silva yet he seems unwilling or unable to repair the major failing in defence: zonal marking at set-pieces. Last Saturday Wolves striker Raul Jimenez scored with a free header from a free kick, and in this match against City, Laporte went unchallenged to score a very similar goal, making it now 12 goals conceded from set-plays. This not a new development for Silva. During his brief spell as manager of Hull City, from January until the end of the season they conceded more goals (11) from set plays than any other club in that period and when he was manager at Watford his side shipped 12. Another unwelcome pattern that is taking shape is that he starts well with a new club and then all too quickly fades away. Everton accumulated 22 points from his first 13 games but only 12 from the next 13. Hull City got 17 points from his first 11 games but only four from the next seven. He won 21 points from 13 games at Watford but only five from his next 11. He is finding managing in England a much tougher proposition than his previous jobs in Portugal and Greece. At the three clubs he managed in those countries his win percentage was 61; at the three cubs he has managed in England it is just 34. To be fair to him, he has inherited a squad which, as pointed out above, is the aggregate of the previous three managers and he needs time to sort out who he wishes to keep and who he wants to move on. Also, he has shown a commitment to developing young players such as Tom Davies, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jonjoe Kenny, and Ademola Lookman, who. But both of these approaches require time, something that Moshiri might not give him. As fate would have it, his next game is away to his previous club Watford, a game he will feel that he must at least draw.
